RallySafe

RallySafe RallySafe is the leading provider of safety tracking and timing for rally events across the globe!

RallySafe is an innovative vehicle to vehicle communication system that transmits hazard warnings via in-car units in competitive motor sports events, such as a rally. The RallySafe unit is a small electronic module fitted to a vehicle for use by the navigator and driver. It incorporates a full colour display, key pad, accelerometers, a radio transceiver, GPS, GSM and satellite communications capab

ilities. The RallySafe electronic device uses all of this latest technology to automatically transmit warnings and vehicle status data from unit to unit and to Race Control as quickly an efficiently as possible. The main safety function of the system is to automatically generate hazard warnings in the event of an accident. This signal is transmitted immediately to following competitors’ vehicles and race controllers. Each in-car unit indicates a competing vehicle’s speed, severity of accident and location in reference to the designated course. The driver or navigator is able to upgrade or downgrade the warning that their vehicle transmits when the system identifies an extraordinary event. An example could be if a vehicle unexpectedly stops on course but does not present any danger to itself or following competitors.Push to pass functionality is also a feature allowing a competitor to warn forward vehicles of their intention to overtake greatly eliminating risks taken in dust or hazardous passing locations.Motorsport has historically relied on human “Flag Marshalls” trained to signal cars of dangerous situations. Flag Marshalls cannot feasibly cover every metre of a designated competition zone and cannot be placed in positions that jeopardise their safety, particularly in rallying. Also there are situations where human intervention is just not fast enough. RallySafe is able to cover the entire course and can notify competitors and race control without delay. All data is transmitted via GSM or satellite to a web server, where it is visible to Race Control officials and the public in an intuitive, easy to use graphical interface. This provides race control with up-to-date knowledge of all their event vehicles and competitors, stage statuses, split times and stage times.

Status Awareness Systems - RallySafe, pays tribute to Morrie Chandler.

RallySafe would have never been born without the encouragement and support from Morrie in the early days of the development and growth.

We are greatful to have had his support over the years and are mourning the sad news of his passing.

RIP to the great Morrie Chandler.

On Friday we poured a beer and said farewell to Simon our software engineer! 👾

Simon has been with RallySafe for just over 12 years, you may have seen him out and about in the early days at events, however he was the magician behind how the system works and talks with other platforms, and has played a huge role in getting the company to where it is today.

His calm nature and quick thinking was an absolute asset to the team, and we wouldn’t be at the top without him.

We thank you for your all your efforts and dedication over the years.

Best wishes on your next adventure Simon 👏🏼

‼️Attention all Australia and New Zealand Competitors‼️

With the recent (or upcoming) rollout of our new RallySafe units, it’s important to ensure your vehicle is fitted with the most up-to-date antenna wiring.

It has come to our attention that some competitors may still be using the 2-in-1 external antennas (Iridium and GPS only). These were phased out in 2014.

The latest setup should include the following connections:

3-in1 External Antenna Connections:
• Iridium Satellite (Yellow)
• GPS Satellite (Green)
• Car-to-Car Radio (Blue) – previously advised to be tucked away, as original RallySafe units did not have a second blue connection.

Internal Radio Antenna:
• Car-to-Car Radio (Blue) – this serves as a backup in the event your external antenna is damaged. It allows messages to continue transmitting via approaching vehicles, then to race control.

RallySafe has been manufacturing 3-in-1 external antennas for approximately 10 years, and the latest RallySafe unit requires the 4 antenna connections (Yellow, Green, Blue, and internal blue), as pictured below.

Please check your setup before your next event, to ensure your vehicle is compatible with the latest RallySafe units. If you have any questions, please get in touch!

You can purchase these via the shop: https://shop.statusas.com/shop/category/antennas/

📣The new RallySafe Remote LED Display is here

🚥Upgrade your RallySafe setup with the Remote LED Display (RLD), the extra-level safety accessory everyone wants! Positioned directly in reach of the driver and/or navigator the RLD ensures hazard warnings are unmissable, giving you seconds of reaction time that can make all the difference.
The Remote LED Display features 4 buttons that mimic your RallySafe unit, providing familiar and intuitive control.

To fit, you don’t need to re-wire your whole car. Just swap out your existing power cable with the new one that you will receive with the order, then you’re good to go.

The RLD slots right into your RallySafe setup with minimal fuss!
