I know that today is not that hot at the moment around Queensland but we might be back again by next week depending on the weather. Sorry I am not a weather expter. :)
Today I like to share with you how to keep your computer and other devices cool or at least at the operating tempreture depsite the heat.
1. Keep Them Out of the Sun
This might seem obvious, but it’s the most common cause of overheating.
My advice: Never leave your phone, tablet, or laptop in a parked car, even for a few minutes. The temperature inside a car can skyrocket quickly, potentially destroying batteries or melting components. Even at home, keep devices away from windows where the direct Queensland sun hits.
2. Airflow is Everything
Your computer relies on moving air to cool down its processor.
The trick: If you’re using a laptop, avoid resting it on soft surfaces like beds, sofas, or even your lap. These surfaces block the vents.
My suggestion: Use a hard, flat desk. If you don't have a cooling pad, you can prop up the back of your laptop slightly with a small book (creating a gap underneath) to improve airflow. For desktop PCs, make sure the tower isn't shoved tight against a wall or inside a closed cabinet.
3. Watch Your Battery
Batteries are chemical devices, and they struggle in extreme heat. You might notice your phone battery draining much faster than usual.
What to do: Avoid charging your device if it feels hot to the touch. Charging generates its own heat, and adding that to the ambient temperature can cause damage. Let it cool down in the shade or near a fan before plugging it in.
4. Give It a Break
If you're not using your computer, shut it down.
These are the 4 simple steps you can take during this hot weatehr we are going through. Also if we are sweating while using the computers and devices, make sure your sweat does not touch it as it’s water and may flow into places causing water damage.
Until next time key cool.
