I got my start in technical services in 1998 when I first upgraded the RAM in an old beast my cousin built me. After that it was the CD-ROM drive, then the Hard Disk Drive, and then it was on. I spent the next 2 years finishing off my first tour with the United States Coast Guard and left the service in 2000. In 2000 in was hired by CompUSA for the sales floor but was quickly picked OFF the sales
floor by the Technical Services manager at the time, Sashil. Sashil became a great friend and mentor and groomed me for the manager position following his promotion to the regional team. I learned a great deal while working in the tech shop, first as a technician, and later as the technical services manager. Not only did I hone my technical expertise, but more importantly, I learned the importance of working with people from all walks of life. I learned that in repairing a person’s personal computer, you are not only fixing broken parts. PCs have become an important part of today’s technologically advanced society. We’ve become very attached to our PCs, and losing one to malfunction, viruses or inadvertent damage can be a significant event. I left CompUSA in 2002 to return to the Coast Guard. The tragedy of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 was still fresh in the minds of people around the world. I felt as though I was helpless to do my part unless I re-enlisted. I served another 6 years in the Coast Guard as a federal on scene coordinator for pollution cases on the California Coast, a facility inspector, and coxswain at an anti-terrorism unit out of San Diego, California. At the end of this tour, I felt it was time to come home. I left active duty in the Coast Guard at the end of 2008 and returned home to Queensland, Australia where I would continue my work with personal computing and technology. I signed on to help my Dad, Larry Walker, with his successful little Tuition and Repair business, Mango Computer Tuition. At Mango our focus has been, and will always be the customer. We have the most loyal customer’s around, and we reward that loyalty with absolute dedication to providing the best and most reliable service possible. Whether you need a new PC custom-built, your home network setup, or some tuition for your PC, Mac, or portable devices; we've got you covered. I don’t keep normal hours, but I’m available 24/7. I learned from my time in the military that I truly enjoy odd hours and emergencies. This is not to say that you can’t see me at a more “normal” time. Mango Computer Tuition is here for the long haul. If you have a technological need, we've got a solution for you, and we’re not in it to fleece you. Our prices are very competitive, and we honour our freely quote prices. We will earn that trust.
