We’ve all noticed the *gorgeous* designs popping up all over our feeds lately. You know the ones.

You might not be able to explain exactly what gives them away, but somehow you just know.

Today at the Canva AI Vision event, Neil Ackland gave me the terminology I’ve clearly been missing:.

Slopometer!!

And I think this might explain why scrolling social media has been making me so bloody tired lately. My slopometer has been working overtime.

Sometimes it's the small things that make the biggest difference on a day-to-day basis:

- Doing things like naming your files correctly
- Having a system that allows you to find what you need when you need it
- Simple processes that mean you are not wasting time with little tasks that should be done very quickly

Won my first ever business award for AMK at the 2025 Altitude Awards and was a little overwhelmed.

Genuinely nervous during this! Think I lick my lips about 20 times and was desperate for a drink.

Fabulous night out for business owners and I am looking forward to entering again this year.

If you send a version of the same email regularly, you do not need to keep writing it from scratch.

Think about enquiries, booking confirmations, invoice reminders, workshop details, follow-ups or review requests.

Today’s tiny systems fix: create one reusable email template for a message you send repeatedly.

You can still personalise it each time. The template simply saves you from rebuilding the same email brick by brick whenever you need it.

Your brain has better things to do than remember the same paragraph every Thursday.

Broken links are one of those small website problems that make a business look a little less cared for than it really is.

They often happen because a service page has moved, an old event has ended, a social media link has changed or a downloadable file has disappeared.

Today, click through a few of the important links on your website, especially your menu, buttons and social icons.

Find one that is no longer working properly and fix it.

One repaired pathway is better than a customer arriving at a digital dead end.

A contact page is only useful if people can easily use it.

Today, check your website contact details:

Is your phone number correct?
Is your email address correct?
Can people tap the phone number on mobile to call you?
Does the address open correctly in maps?
Are your business hours still accurate?

These are tiny details, but when someone is ready to contact you, even a small roadblock can make them wander off.

Make it easy for people to take the next step.
