Scammers are using Paypal to send invoices to people as an attempt to pose as a legitimate company. Never call the number or pay the amount. Forward any unsolicited invoices to [email protected]

Reports of users who use, or have ever used, LastPass as their choice of password manager having their saved accounts being breached are starting to appear on popular websites.

LastPass recently experienced a breach of approximately 30,000,000 user's data including master passwords and linked login items.

If you are or have ever saved login details to a LastPass account, it is highly important that you change any login details saved to your account.

Alternatively, you can use a free and open-source offline password manager which has no connection to any online service and exists safely on your PC like Keepass! or KeePassXC.

Westpac customers should be aware of the rise of scam E-mails targeting them. These Emails are well made, very convincing and would be very easy for an unsuspecting customer to fall for. Never trust the name of the recipient as this can be changed to anything from anyone without any authority. Always check the actual E-mail address the message was sent.

These Email's will direct you to a fake Westpac banking website where you will be instructed to input your Online banking login details. However, instead of those details being transmitted securely to a Westpac server. They will be transferred directly to a server run by the scammer where they can then save those details and use them gain access to your account.

The two images below are from Outlook for Desktop and Outlook for Android. The Blue Rectangle shows the Senders 'name' but the highlighted yellow area shows the actual E-mail address which is very obviously not a Westpac Email address. Android and iOS users may not normally be able to see the senders Email address until they tape on the sender's 'name' shown by the blue rectangle.

If you're still having trouble discerning whether an email is fake or not it's always safest to call or visit our local branch and ask them directly but do not use contact details provided in the Email
