NEIR এবং Tax issue নিয়ে যারা Social Media-তে Unnecessary buzz create করছেন, তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে কিছু Practical scenarios শেয়ার করি। যেমন
I am genuinely willing to purchase a brand new unit. সত্যি বলতে, current 43% tax structure তো দূরে থাক, Legit channels-এ ফোনটা পেলে আমি 63% tax pay করতেও hesitate করব না। প্রশ্ন হলো, বাংলাদেশ সরকার কি আমাদের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী অফিসিয়াল সব Device provide করতে পারবে?
Sad but true—বাংলাদেশে officially সব ফোন launch-ই হয় না। আসলে ভুলে গিয়েছিলাম, আমরা তো বাংলাদেশি Consumer! Global standard-এর প্রিমিয়াম ফ্ল্যাগশিপ ব্যবহার করার "Eligibility" বা "Market Value" কি আমাদের আদৌ আছে?
শুধু iPhone,Vivo না, iQOO-এর মতো demandable ব্র্যান্ডের কয়টা হাই-এন্ড ফোন বাংলাদেশে officially enter করে? অথচ গ্লোবাল মার্কেটে মানুষ মাত্র ১০-১৫% ভ্যাট/ট্যাক্স দিয়ে লেটেস্ট টেকনোলজি উপভোগ করছে। আর আমরা? আমরা ৪৩% বা তার বেশি ট্যাক্স দিতে প্রস্তুত থাকার পরেও, পছন্দের ডিভাইসটি ব্যবহারের সুযোগ পাচ্ছি না জাস্ট বিকজ ওটা অফিশিয়ালি ইমপোর্ট হয় না।
So, my point is very clear—Government বা Business syndicates, যেই পলিসি মেকার হোক না কেন:
১. NEIR system চালু রাখুন, I have no objection.
২. কিন্তু Tax rate অবশ্যই rational পর্যায়ে কমিয়ে আনতে হবে।
৩. এবং Most importantly, গ্লোবাল মার্কেটের সকল মেজর ফ্ল্যাগশিপ এবং মিড-রেঞ্জ ফোন Officially Bangladesh-এ Available করতে হবে।
Tax দিবো, কিন্তু Consumer হিসেবে "Freedom of Choice"-টাও এনশিওর করতে হবে। তাই আগে এই ফোনগুলো ট্যাক্স দিয়ে হলেও বাংলাদেশে আনার ব্যবস্থা করেন যাতে আমরা এগুলো কিনতে পারি, তারপর unofficial মার্কেটটাকে বন্ধ করে দিন। দ্যাটস ইট।
