From Please, Please, Please and Try Me to Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag, I Got You (I Feel Good) and Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) S*x Machine, he became one of the most important performers in popular music.

🦇 Bonus points if you can name the spooky 60s sitcom 🦇
Born on this day in 1923, who is this Brooklyn-born actor best remembered as the cape-wearing, cigar-loving Grandpa in one of television’s great monster-family comedies?
Before that famous Transylvanian household, he had already become a familiar TV face as Officer Leo Schnauser in Car 54, Where Are You?, bringing the same fast-talking comic timing that later made him such a favourite.
We sadly lost him in February 2006. Can you name him?
