Types of Web Hosting Services?
There are different types of web hosting services offered to host your website. Before signing up for web hosting services, it is important to know what kind of service your website requirements, the kind of server you or your business wants, your budget, and what type of services the web host offers.
Shared Hosting:
In a shared hosting environment, your and other website owners shared one server. This includes sharing the physical server and the software applications within the server. Shared hosting services are reasonable because the cost to operate the server is shared between you and these other owners.
Reseller Hosting:
Reseller web hosting is a choice that involves one company (a hosting provider) renting hard drive space and bandwidth to another company (small-mid size business), who then rents the space to third parties (entrepreneurs-small business). Simply put, reseller hosting is the capability to provide hosting to your own clients as if you yourself were the web hosting company. This is typical for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start their own web hosting firm or for current web developers and designers who desire to add additional services to their brand.
VPS Hosting:
Virtual Private Server (VPS) web hosting is planned to allow one physical server to share its resources, such as memory, storage and processing power, with a number of virtual machines and to use its resources more efficiently without the high cost of maintaining such a hardware system.
VPS web hosting is the solution for customers who want to host multiple domains on a single server unrestricted by operating system types such as Linux or Windows preferences. Customers have full access to their virtual server to install custom software along with the capability to modify the server configuration — which can't be done in a standard shared hosting environment. Each VPS is established on the same hardware and assigned a dedicated IP address, much like a dedicated server.
Dedicated Hosting:
In a dedicated hosting environment, you have the whole web server to yourself. This allows for faster performance, as you have all the server’s resources completely, without sharing with other website owners. However, this also means that you will be responsible for the cost of server operation completely. This is a good choice for websites that requires a lot of system resources, or need a higher level of security.
