The first captain of Bangladesh cricket team, Mr. Anwarul Kabir Shamim left us today. The prolific cricketer was one of the pioneers of Bangladesh cricket. We mourn his loss and offer our sincerest condolences to his loved ones. I pray to the Almighty Allah for granting him Jannat and giving his family the strength to overcome this colossal loss. You will be remembered captain.

বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট ইতিহাসের সর্বপ্রথম অধিনায়ক জনাব আনোয়ারুল কবির শামীম আজ আমাদের ছেড়ে চলে গেছেন। সনামধন্য এই ক্রিকেটার ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেটের একজন অগ্রদূত। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। পরম করুণাময়ের কাছে প্রার্থনা করি তিনি যেন এই কিংবদন্তিকে জান্নাতবাসী করেন এবং তাঁর অনুপস্থিতিতে তাঁর পরিবারকে ভালো থাকার সাহস ও শক্তি দেন।
