Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic/Hijri Calendar. Muslims worldwide are obligated to Fast (Sawm) from Dawn till Sunset, they refrain from consuming food, drinking & smoking for that period of the day for about 29-30 days depending on the visual sightings of the crescent moon. Ramadan teaches Muslims how to better practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice & empathy towards those who are less fortunate; thus encouraging actions of generosity & compulsory charity. It's also a lovely month that brings families closer to each other as they share their breakfast together in the evening. It truly is a month of joy & happiness.

May Allah have mercy on those who are still stuck inside the Savar building, and help the rescuers safely pull them out of danger without the building collapsing even more. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. We hope that the people responsible for this massacre will be caught and duly punished.

83+ people dead and an estimated 800 people injured in the savar incident. Police and other officials are busy to rescue those under the building. Lack of adequate machinery is not helping the condition too. If you are near savar, then please go and give a hand. Also the hospital desperately needs blood - PLEASE donate at a near blood bank and have it sent to Enam Medical http://www.emcbd.com/contact/.
