We are working on our competition team, Horizon X 🚀
While working on one of our projects, it made us realize something bigger: the field of robotics is incredibly vast, diverse, and full of possibilities.
Horizon X is exploring different areas of robotics and autonomous systems, including:
UAV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ✈️
Drones and aerial robotic systems used for surveillance, mapping, inspection, delivery, rescue operations, agriculture, research, and autonomous flight competitions.
- UGV, Unmanned Ground Vehicle 🤖
Ground based robotic vehicles designed for navigation, exploration, logistics, defence, disaster response, industrial automation, and autonomous mobility.
- AUV, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle 🌊
Intelligent underwater robots that can operate independently without direct human control, often used in marine research, seabed mapping, inspection, and underwater exploration.
- ROV, Remotely Operated Vehicle 🌐
Underwater robots controlled remotely by operators. These systems are widely used for underwater inspection, maintenance, research, offshore operations, and deep sea exploration.
- UUV, Unmanned Underwater Vehicle 🌊🤖
A broader category of underwater robotic systems that includes both autonomous and remotely operated platforms for research, defence, monitoring, and underwater missions.
- USV, Unmanned Surface Vehicle 🚤
Autonomous or remotely controlled boats that operate on the water surface for monitoring, mapping, environmental research, surveillance, rescue, and maritime operations.
And these are only a few areas.
Robotics today connects computer vision, embedded systems, IoT, autonomous navigation, control systems, mechanical design, electronics, communication, sensors, data, and software engineering into one exciting ecosystem.
For us, Horizon X is not just a competition team. It is a platform to explore, experiment, build, test, fail, learn, improve, and push our technical limits.
The more we explore, the more we understand how much there is still to learn.
