Transition managers are growing significantly in popularity among businesses worldwide. 📈 They hold great responsibility: they must coordinate any transformational changes in a company, which goes hand in hand with a high level of complexity they need to manage.
So how do you know you assign the right person to the task? 🤔

Wim De Mulder, partner at Valpeo, says, “To understand how transition managers handle complexity, we need to bring their ‘change agility’, ‘problem-solving ability’, and ‘awareness of complexity’ into focus. This can be accomplished by analyzing their complexity orientation, which needs to complement the other qualities that we traditionally look for in transition managers.”

‼️ In the selection process today, too many candidates are still rejected or recruited for the wrong reasons.

✨Nowadays, people are searching for purpose in their jobs and feel a stronger urge of self-expression, also in a work environment. Stephan Soens, partner at Valpeo and Accord Group, says, “The cultural match between a candidate and a potential employer and the level of added value that someone can bring become much more important than proven experience or tested competencies. Yet we still rely too often on established concepts and methodologies which, at best, simply offer a false sense of security.”
