Change is in the air here in the Blue Planet realm! While we can't spill all the beans just yet, we couldn't wait to share this special update: our office has had a stunning makeover! 😍💼

As our company continues to grow, so does the space that powers our creativity✨ We've decided to maximize our fantastic office space by adding more desks upstairs. 🖥️💻 If you've ever visited us, you'll know that this space is prime real estate! It's right next to the kitchen and offers an awesome street view, perfect for some people-watching moments. 👀

On top of this big change we have finished our shower room (for those days where you’ve just worked too hard)

And we have installed an accessible toilet downstairs to cater to everybody’s needs.

Home Office with a view! 🖼

A few months ago we said "ciao!" to our excellent Product Owner Nicholas and today we were lucky enough to get a sneak peak into his new office space...

"This age of hybrid working solutions makes our increasingly complex lives a lot easier. I am super happy that I can join my partner Nora in Turin where she is on assignment for her PhD in collaboration with the The International University College of Turin, focusing on machine learning algorithms for genome interpretation.

Thanks to technology and my employer Blue Planet Academy & Consulting, it is business as usual for me! What a wonderful international experience! 🇮🇹"

Meet Nikita, an extreme sports lover who, luckily for us, is pretty great at extreme coding too. He wanted to be a Ninja growing up, while we can’t make him a ninja we can certainly give him the tools to make knowledge his greatest weapon!

This business major makes it his business to be super efficient and great to have around the office.

You know what really puts a smile on our face?

Our hardware budget 🥳

Yes... call us superficial but we can't resist some technology!

Every year each member of the team gets an amount of money allotted to "hardware" this is anything that they think might make their lives, their code, and their brains a little bit better. 💻🎧

There's nothing more essential than your comfort in the workplace and we know that everyone has their own quirks. Instead of imposing a preplanned work style on our team we have it be 100% customisable.

Here we have Mo (one of our best posers for the camera btw 📸) and his new headset. Carefully selected to be the best thing to drown out noise and also make you look like you're super hard at work. 🤩

Every month (we hope but usually it’s more when the amount of information gets too much to be contained and needs to be shared before and explosion!)

We have an update talk bestowed upon us by the main man in town ! 🗣️

He shares his hopes and dreams with the team and we all try to follow what he’s saying.

These talks are extremely important and special to us because it gives every single member of the team the opportunity to:
(1) ask questions
(2) voice opinions
(3) be on the exact same wavelength
(4) play some fun games after

We always appreciate how seriously everyone takes this (because it is tip top serious affair) and we hope to share some of the fun information with our followers very soon 💙🎉

Ever wondered how we keep the office so sleek?

It’s not by accident. Plenty of little elves work behind the scenes to make it the awesome place to work that it is!

Our key word? Teamwork! ✨

Every week we have someone on “trash duty” a “trash fairy” 🧚‍♀️ if you will. This allows us to be sure that on office days someone is picking up mugs and glasses even from the most well hidden places. And that no trash is left behind or mis-recycled! ♻️.

We count on a certain amount of goodwill also, if you see something that isn’t right: do something about it. We don’t just sit around expecting someone else to. Our office is our responsibility.

One thing that really helps us stay on top of it is our sparkling Office Manager Marie! If you want to know more about the responsibilities, highs and lows of an office manager for a fast-paced tech company then stay tuned. Marie’s feature will be up next!

Vinnie Schelfhaut is a Pokémon card game enthusiast and has been all round Europe playing for the big win! This year is extra exciting for him xbecause he has been given the opportunity to fly for 8 hours all the way to Tokyo and participate in the highly anticipated 2023 Pokémon World Championships. We wish him the best of luck and much more success for the future!
