Design & conception As an electronics engineer and musician, Yann Lu manufactures at home (Belgium) analog pro audio devices since 2015.

His first conception is a microphone preamp inspired by an early 80s console circuitry, which was made famous by best-selling albums included i.a. Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Bad or Paul Simon's Graceland. The low noise parallel discrete input stage produces very pristine, clear and transparent sounds with thick transients.

Meet the F432S — Quad Stereo Filter Bank. 🎛️

What started as a custom request from a customer in Australia turned into something much more exciting: a brand new Yann Lu Audio product🔥

The idea was simple: 4 independent stereo channels, each featuring the legendary HPF & LPF filters, silent true bypass, and 0 to +10 dB output gain — all packed into a single 1U rack unit with DB25 analog I/O.

The challenge was fitting 12 k***s, 4 silent bypass switches and 16 signal LEDs onto a 1U front panel while keeping the same comfortable spacing and ergonomics as the EQ32S.

After a lot of design work, PCB development, testing and calibration, the first F432S is now finished and on its way to Australia. 🇦🇺

An inspiring visit to Dada Studios Brussels Dada Studios in Brussels.
I spent a couple of hours discussing preamps, sonic colours, recording techniques and the endless quest for the perfect balance between technology and musical expression.
It was a pleasure to share ideas with Peter and to talk about studio workflows, analog equipment and the role of character in modern recordings.
Our 500-series preamp rack featuring 8 modules is now being evaluated in a professional studio environment, and we look forward to the feedback from such experienced ears.
A great exchange around sound, craftsmanship and the passion that drives audio innovation.

Today’s installation: a PRE-22 dual microphone preamp for The Mellow's THE MELLOW'S folk band and their charming home studio environment 🎤🎙️🔥

Integrated into a recording chain built around Logic Pro, a Scarlett 2i2, a Shure SM57 and a Lewitt LCT440, the PRE-22 adds a dedicated analog stage designed to bring greater depth, detail and tonal character to every capture.

It is always a pleasure to see my equipment become part of a creative workflow and a place where music is made.

Today I spent the afternoon at the Pyramide Studio for a drum recording session using my PRE-505 mic preamps.
6 channels were wired for the session 🎙️🎛️🎤🥁👌

The first takes already sounded incredibly punchy on the snare, with huge low-end extension on the kick. The room capture from the B&K microphones was also beautifully natural and detailed.
