Review: Orbitals

Orbitals somehow made me nostalgic for a cartoon I never watched. Its 80s-inspired anime and manga style immediately reminded me of those shows you might have discovered as a kid, forgotten about for decades, and then randomly found one evening again. Except Orbitals never existed back then, this is its own universe, with its own characters and locations, but everything from the character designs to the environments had me believing otherwise....

Calling Rayman Legends Retold a remake almost undersells what Ubisoft is doing here. I have plenty of memories of the original Rayman Legends, so I knew the forests, castles, enemies and familiar faces waiting for me when I started my hour-long Gamescom session. Hands-on: Stranger Than Heaven – Gamescom 2026

The first two fights in Stranger Than Heaven went pretty well. I punched my way through several guys in Kokura, Fukuoka, moved on to another fight in Kure, Hiroshima, and started getting comfortable with this unusual combat system RGG Studio has created. Hands-on: Persona 4 Revival – Gamescom 2026

Persona 4 Revival has one advantage with me that Atlus probably doesn’t have with a lot of people waiting for this remake: I don’t really care how it used to look. I never properly played the original, so when I walked through Inaba at Gamescom, I wasn’t comparing every street, shop or character to something I remembered from years ago. The Shopping District, Riverbank and the other locations I visited were basically new to me, and perhaps that’s why I was so impressed by how beautiful everything looked....
