Meet Andrea El Haddad, a PhD student in regenerative medicine, who is exploring new ways to study osteoarthritis at imec.
Osteoarthritis affects around 600 million people worldwide. To investigate this complex disease, Andrea is developing a platform based on conducting polymers, materials that can bridge the gap between biological tissues and conventional electronics.
Andrea's ultimate goal is to better understand cellular behavior through advanced technologies and help researchers uncover what happens in joint tissues as osteoarthritis develops.
๐น Discover Andrea's research in this 60 Seconds of Fame.
At imec, researchers from a wide range of backgrounds explore new ways to tackle complex scientific questions.
