Some are lost, some are found. Here's an update about our stands!
Blokbuster: this campagne is born early 90's after the big break through of a famous right wing party. These people are still active in the antiracist and antifascist movement as they see (hidden)racism is still too present today.
Monsieur Gustave : These kind people have only one ambitious goal: a future with only empty shelters. How they want do it it? Through prevention! By investing in potential problematic behaviour with animals, the financial situations with owners and anticipating in sudden changes in the human’s life (like moving, …). Monsieur Gustave wants to tackle these subjects with love and perseverance to make shelters empty, and animal lives better!
Sea Shepherd Belgium : Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organisation. Their mission is to end the destruction of the habitat and the slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. (+ lecture on Sat or Sun)
Animal Rights België - Belgique : By revealing undercover images, solid investigations, decent research, strong arguments, life saving actions and powerfull petitions, Animal Rights is a true voice for the weakest in our society. Active in the Netherlands and Belgium, they commit fully to the rights of animals. Every animal is an individual with a right to live, to well-being, regardless of their use or ‘necessity’ for the human. They believe in a society where humans and animals live in harmony. (+ a lecture on Sat and a lecture + workshop on Sun)
OUT LOUD : There’s no place for homophobia in punk, on stages or in front of them.
The battle started by the queercore movement in the eighties is not over until we all have the liberty to live free and proud. Outloud is a collective for qu**rs who don’t fit in to the mainstream world, for the freaks and outcasts, for the glitterpunks and rainbowrockers. They like it rough, dirty and loud! (+ lecture on Sun)
Girls go BOOM: Since the origin of popular music in the fifties, the music industry has very much been a boys’ club. It were the men shaking their hips provocatively on stage through the early years of rock ‘n roll. It were the men running the labels when rock became hard and punk became wild. It were the men writing the album reviews when new wave made everyone want to look as depressed as Morrissey. It were the men moshing away when it was socially acceptable to punch your best friend a black eye on music. Throughout the history of rock music, you boys set the tone. You’re probably tired, aren’t you? Let the girls take over :). (+lecture on Sun)
Forrest & Friends : Forrest & Friends is an animal sanctuary, this means animals who suffered abuse get the safety and rest they deserve here, for the rest of their lives. Their animals are ex-industry animals, animals that were exploited, confiscated animals and animals that are given away by previous owners. Their main focus is on pasture animals.
Vzw Humain: This citizens organisation fights for basic human rights and equal rights. They are active in the field where refugees (have to) live, they give lectures at schools, they try to bring a little bit of humanity back regardless of our voting outcome. Want to give a hand? They will tell you what they do and what you can do! (+ lecture on Sun)
Leuven Anarchistische Groep : With roots in the local popular squatting scene of the early 2000’s, LAG has rissen to prove anarchy is order. Working together with small local initiatives in sunny city parks, planning radical demo’s in dark basements or dancing silly salmon-moves on any type of music, these people work their asses off to end discrimination, to help fund organisations, to share information or just to provide a nice hot vegan meal on a wintery evening.
