The report came in on Wednesday. Our team was on-site the same day and immediately cut the entire network off from the internet and all external connections. Next came imaging of every system to reconstruct exactly what the attacker saw, did and took.

Notary offices aren't a random target. Large financial transactions, historically limited IT security, and vast amounts of sensitive data make them especially attractive to attackers who know exactly where to look.
