The Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, has issued a strong warning to "tenderpreneurs," stating that the new administration will prioritize serious business leaders who create value and improve the lives of Batswana.
Speaking at a Renewable Energy Dialogue in Gaborone this morning, Gaolathe emphasized that people should have opportunities to come together, innovate, and engage in joint ventures. He encouraged individuals to seek partnerships, learn from these collaborations, and contribute to the growth of Botswana's economy.
"We are not looking for tenderpreneurs. We are looking for true nation builders, true innovatorsβthat is what we want. And if you are a tenderpreneur, watch out in the new Botswana," he said.
Tenderpreneurs are individuals who often secure government contracts through political connections for personal gain, typically without adding meaningful value to the economy through job creation or domestic investment.
