I’m really excited to be hosting another class at the Airdrie Public Library this Friday at 6pm:
CTRL + ALT + DEFEND: Cybersecurity for Everyone
This is a practical, no-jargon session built around the real things I see every day working in IT. We’re going to break down how scams actually work, how people get tricked (it’s not what you think), and what you can do to protect yourself without going down a rabbit hole of complicated tools.
We’ll cover things like:
• How scams are designed to trigger emotion and get you to act
• The difference between legitimate emails and scam attempts
• Common Facebook and online scams happening right now
• What actually protects you (and what’s just marketing)
• Simple ways to lock down your accounts properly
The goal isn’t to overwhelm you. It’s to make you confident and give you tools you’ll actually use.
There’ll also be time for questions, so feel free to bring anything you’re unsure about.
