Ten years. Still upgrading.

VDTS has worked with Columbia Forest Products for more than 10 years, connecting our voice-driven log scaling to their LIMS system from Trimble. Over that time we've kept their scalers on current technology, and the latest upgrade moved CFP's log scalers at Old Fort, NC and Craigsville onto RealWear Navigator® 520 headsets.

Long partnerships come from software that keeps up with the work.

Zero volume complaints since install.

"Since we installed the system, we have had zero customer complaints related to volume." — Don Kerr, Customer Service Supervisor, Tembec

Repetitive motion produces random errors. Voice input eliminates them. Every log is confirmed visually and audibly as it is scaled, stored locally, and exported on command.

Short days. Cold hands. Full cruise.

Late-season cruising means less daylight and even less patience for a clipboard. VDTS Timber Cruising© keeps the whole job on the headset: bearing and distance to every plot on the screen below your eye, tree heights by saying "Mark Ground" and "Mark Height," and guidance back to the truck when you're done.

Gloves stay on. Your data stays safe.

“Not only providing the gross and net—everybody has that expectation—but providing value-added with those aforementioned things.” – Richard Tustin

Log scaling is more than a tally sheet. It’s about delivering high-quality, value-added data that mills can rely on to plan production and maximize recovery.

VDTS offers rugged handheld and hands-free voice-controlled systems that make it easy for scalers to collect, validate, and share detailed grading and sorting information—even in tough field conditions.
