A webhook endpoint returns 200 and everyone moves on. Three weeks later a customer says the order never reached the ERP.
That gap between "we returned 200" and "the work happened" is where most integrations quietly fail. Webhook delivery is at-least-once by design, so duplicates are not an edge case. They are the contract.
Our new post covers the patterns that hold up in production: verify signatures against the raw body, deduplicate on the event ID with a database constraint, persist the event before you process it, and reconcile daily to catch what you missed.
