☀️ Your solar panels work with the seasons. Shouldn't your electricity plan?

As Alberta's days get shorter, the balance between the electricity your solar panels generate and the power you draw from the grid can change.

That's why Ridge Utilities offers the Solar Club® Loyalty Program for eligible Alberta solar micro-generators.

⚡ High-export and low-export rate options let you choose a plan that reflects your electricity production.

☀️ Flexible switching helps you adapt as your solar generation changes throughout the year.

🔄 Optional RateSwitch™ technology can automatically adjust your rate based on whether you're producing more electricity than you're using from the grid.

As a community-owned Alberta energy retailer, we believe smart energy choices and stronger communities go hand in hand.

Make the most of your solar investment, whatever the season.

Your farm runs on seasons. Your energy plan should work for your operation.

From irrigation and grain drying to heated shops, equipment and storage facilities, energy is an essential part of running a successful Alberta farm but not every farming operation uses energy the same way.

At Ridge Utilities, we offer electricity and natural gas options designed to give Alberta farmers more choice.

⚡ Fixed rates provide price certainty, making budgeting more predictable.
⚡ Variable rates move with the energy market, offering flexibility for those comfortable with changing prices.

And when comparing plans, it pays to look beyond the energy rate. Administration fees, contract terms and prudential requirements can all affect your decision.

As a community-owned Alberta energy retailer, we're proud to support the agricultural communities that help drive our province's economy.
You focus on growing your business. We'll help you explore the energy options that fit.

⚡ **The power lines don't change but where your energy dollars go can.**

Here's something many Albertans don't realize... the company that delivers your electricity doesn't have to be the company you buy it from.

In Alberta, eligible customers can choose their electricity retailer. Your local distribution company still maintains the power lines, delivers the electricity and responds to outages.

So why does your choice of retailer matter?

At Ridge Utilities, we believe energy should do more than power homes, farms and businesses. It should help build stronger communities.

We're a community-owned Alberta energy retailer, offering electricity and natural gas options while directing our profits back into community and regional initiatives.

It's a different approach to doing business. One where your everyday energy purchases can help make a difference close to home.

**Same power lines. More choice. Stronger communities.**

Your energy bill is more than just the energy rate.

When Albertans compare electricity or natural-gas plans, it’s easy to focus on the headline ¢/kWh or $/GJ. But the Utilities Consumer Advocate recommends looking at the bigger picture: administration fees, contract terms and other retailer charges all matter. Transmission and distribution charges are set by your local distributor and generally don’t change just because you choose a different retailer.

Alberta consumers may also have choices between fixed and variable competitive rates. A fixed rate provides a set energy price for the contract period, while a variable rate moves with market conditions. Neither is automatically right for everyone... the better fit depends on how you use energy and how much price certainty you want.

At Ridge Utilities, we think understanding your options is part of making a good energy decision. And because Ridge is community-owned, profits are reinvested back into the communities and region our customers call home. Ridge Utilities

The farm doesn’t run on a 9-to-5 schedule. Neither does its energy use.

Irrigation. Grain drying. Shops. Barns. Equipment. Alberta farms can have very different electricity and natural-gas needs depending on the operation and the season.

That’s why it’s worth understanding your options instead of assuming there’s only one way to buy energy. Alberta’s Utilities Consumer Advocate confirms that many farm customers can choose among competitive and default retailers, although availability depends on location and whether the property is served by an REA or natural-gas co-op.

Ridge Utilities offers farm customers both fixed and variable electricity options, natural-gas plans and options specifically designed for irrigation customers.
(Current Ridge offerings are also listed through the independent Utilities Consumer Advocate.)

And Ridge brings something else to the table: community ownership. Profits are reinvested back into the communities and region its customers call home.

Your farm is a business. Your energy plan should fit the way you operate.

Running a business is complicated enough. Your energy plan doesn’t have to be.

Alberta businesses can choose how they purchase electricity and natural gas, including competitive plans with fixed or variable pricing. The Utilities Consumer Advocate also recommends looking beyond the headline energy rate at administration fees, distribution charges and other costs when comparing plans.

At Ridge Utilities, we believe businesses should have options.

Choose the approach that fits your operation whether your priority is price certainty, flexibility or simply having electricity and natural gas with one provider.

Ridge currently offers business customers fixed and variable electricity options as well as natural-gas plans.

And there’s another difference: Ridge is community-owned, with profits used to support and grow communities and the region.

Power your business. Support your community.

When you farm in Alberta, predictability has value. 🌾

You can’t control the weather. You can’t control commodity markets. But you can make choices about how you buy electricity.

Ridge Utilities offers a guaranteed electricity option specifically for irrigation customers — currently 8.88¢/kWh through December 2029 with the Discount Advantage rate. It’s designed for producers who would rather know their energy price than wonder what the market will do next.

And because Ridge is community-owned, 100% of its profits are used to support and grow communities and the region.

It’s Alberta energy serving Alberta agriculture.

Alberta energy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your energy plan shouldn’t be either.

One household may value predictable monthly pricing. Another may prefer following the market. A farm or business may have completely different priorities.

That’s why Ridge Utilities offers choice.

As of August 31, Ridge’s residential variable electricity rate had a 30-day moving average of 6.81¢/kWh, including its transaction fee. For customers who prefer predictability, a one-year guaranteed residential rate is currently available from 6.93¢/kWh, subject to availability.

For context, Alberta’s default Rate of Last Resort is currently about 12¢/kWh, depending on service area, and remains in place through December 31, 2026. Rates quoted here are energy charges; delivery, administration and other applicable charges are separate.

The point isn’t that one option is right for everyone. The point is that Albertans have a choice.

And with Ridge, you’re choosing a community-owned Alberta utility that reinvests profits into the communities where its customers live.
