Every website has a hero section.
Whether you realize it or not, it's one of the most important parts of the entire website.
The hero section is the very first thing visitors see before they start scrolling. In just a few seconds, they're deciding whether they're in the right place, whether they understand what you do, and whether it's worth exploring any further.
That's a lot of responsibility for one section!
One of the biggest mistakes I see is treating the hero like a welcome message instead of a first impression.
"Welcome to my website."
"Thanks for stopping by."
Or a beautiful image with very little explanation.
While those things may feel warm or personal, they don't help visitors answer the questions they're already asking.
What does this business do?
Who is it for?
Why should I keep reading?
A strong hero section doesn't try to say everything. It simply gives people enough confidence to keep exploring.
When visitors immediately understand they're in the right place, everything else on the website becomes easier.
Take a look at your own homepage.
If someone landed there for the very first time, would they understand what you do within a few seconds, or would they have to keep searching for the answer?
