A little business milestone worth pausing for: my Black Friday Blueprint is ready, and the posts to promote it are scheduled.

There’s a surprising amount tucked into that sentence.

Creating the planner and guide. Updating the landing page. Preparing graphics. Writing captions. Checking that everything describes the same offer.

I’m usually ready to move straight to the next task, but I’m giving this finished work a moment.

What have you finished recently that deserves a little credit—even if your to-do list is still long?

A launch plan should help you answer, “What do I need to do next?”

That’s why my Black Friday Blueprint includes an editable Google Sheets planner.

There’s space for your offer, campaign dates, email plan, tasks and launch checks—plus a review after the campaign ends.

The accompanying 12-page Quickstart Guide uses a fictional example to show you how to work through it.

You bring the business decisions. The kit gives you somewhere to organise them.

The planner and guide are $27 CAD. Take a closer look through the link in the first comment.

Your next useful headline might be sitting in an enquiry you have already received.

I like starting with the words people use when they ask for help. “My website looks fine, but nobody gets in touch” gives us something more specific to work with than “I need better marketing.”

Look through a few recent messages. Notice the problem, the frustration, and the result they hoped for. Keep customer details private, and use what you learn to make your message clearer.

The free Ideal Customer Clarity Worksheet can help you work through this. Download link in the first comment.

A click is not the same as a decision.

Someone can be interested enough to visit your website and still disappear before taking the next step.

When that happens, I look at what sits between interest and action:
Is the message still clear?
Is there enough proof?
Does the offer make sense?
Is the next step obvious?
Does it feel reasonable?

This is why I rarely look at one marketing asset in isolation.

Your website visitors shouldn’t need you beside them to explain it.

You know what you offer, who it helps and how everything works. Someone arriving for the first time has to figure that out from the page.

Before making big changes, try five questions:

• What does this business do?
• Is it relevant to me?
• Why should I trust it?
• What should I do next?
• What happens after I click?

My new article walks through each one, with illustrative before-and-after examples for service businesses and physical and digital product sellers.

Open one page on your phone and follow the walkthrough. Note the first question the page leaves unanswered—that gives you something specific to investigate.

“I should post something for Black Friday” can send you straight into Canva before you’ve decided what you’re selling.

Pause for three questions:

What’s included?
Who is it for?
Why would they want it?

Write those answers down before you start designing. You’ll have a much clearer brief for your graphics and copy.

Managing multiple platforms shouldn't mean keeping twenty browser tabs open at once.

When I streamlined my content workflow into a single workspace, the biggest change wasn't just saving time—it was lowering the mental friction of switching contexts. Being able to check analytics, map out the week, and queue posts in one place keeps content planning calm and consistent.

A new lead needs more than a notification in your inbox.

They need a response that continues the conversation they started. They need to understand what happens next. And if the decision takes time, they may need thoughtful follow-up.

When that path has a gap, the answer isn’t always “get more leads.” I’d find the first broken step and fix that one.

It might be a clearer confirmation message, a better first reply, or a more consistent way to follow up.

Could your message be more specific?

“We help you grow” leaves a reader with a lot to work out.

“Monthly bookkeeping for self-employed tradespeople” names the service and the audience. It gives the right person something concrete to recognise.

That’s an illustrative example, but the check applies to your own message: can someone tell what you do and who it’s for without asking you to explain?

Look at your opening line today. What detail would make it clearer?

You’ve opened Canva to make a Black Friday post. Then you realise you’re still deciding what the offer actually is.

Before designing, settle three things:

• What exactly will someone get?
• Why is it useful to them?
• Where should they go next?

Write down those answers and use them as the brief for your graphics, offer page and emails.

The carousel walks you through it.

Want somewhere to organise the rest? My Black Friday Blueprint includes an editable Google Sheets planner and a 12-page Quickstart Guide for $27 CAD. Details in the first comment.

Which part is still undecided for you: the offer, the message or the dates?
