Another creative day at Infront Graphic Design Studio!

One of the things I enjoy most is mentoring young creatives and giving Co-Op Students a space to explore their ideas, build confidence, and learn real-world design skills.

Today I had the chance to see some thoughtful design work come together, and it’s always inspiring to watch creativity grow through hands-on experience, experimentation, and encouragement.

Design is more than software — it’s learning how to communicate ideas, solve problems, and trust your own creative voice.

Good day to all!
It has come to my attention with a few colleagues, regarding subscriptions from different company websites. I sincerely say, please read the fine print of all terms for which you have subscribed to. I have myself, been nipped by this situation once and truly understand what you’re going through. When it says, “ cancel anytime” doesn’t always mean you stop paying. We now have an internal list of companies that do this as the result of a research project. Company awareness of these matters is vitally important not only internally but to all businesses out there. As a designer myself, I know what it’s like when your on a tight deadline whizzing through online businesses trying to find the best valued products on the fly. With all do respect, it is not worth paying more for a job than what you’re making.

Designers and Scammers, where to draw the line

This past week our team has been talking about designing for companies that are fraudulent or actually exist only to scam others. As designers, it’s our responsibility to understand what to do in this situation. I have talked not only to my team about this, also suppliers and friends. Hopefully working together on this will further help lessen the amount of victims targeted by fake businesses and put money back into the designer’s field on a legitimate level. I feel this all boils down to our moral compass. When doing any corporate designing, we make it our first priority to do as much research on the company’s history and past branding. With this as the subject of the week, how do we figure out if a company is legitimate and how to know what to do?

The questions are:

Do we “do” the design requested no matter what and get paid? No questions asked.

Do we “not” do the design after doing the research finding out that the company is in fact a scam?

Do we provide a contract that specifically states that if we do the designs, we are not liable for any legal action that has been a subject of this company’s actions?
