For anyone who didn't already know, aside from fixing phones and PCs, I have been doing a bunch of 3D printing over here at IPhix Cornwall... with a big focus on fun custom phone stands and unique gift items. I'm curious what kinds of small 3D-printed things the community would actually want to buy or use? I am looking for ideas, suggestions, and some feedback on what you'd like to see in the shop!
I’ve been printing lots of gift ideas for the holidays (see the attached videos) and I’d love suggestions for what YOU would like to see. I’ve already got a whole shelf of 3D printed goodies... Phone stands, pen holders, and a few Christmas pieces... but I want to add more!
If you’ve found any cool public-domain printables online (Makerworld, Thingiverse, Printables), drop me a link or a screenshot — I can usually print most of those things right here. And a side-note, if you'd like a custom phone stand showcasing your favorite animal or character, I am interested in doing up something just for you, so let me know! Keep in mind I can only fit in a limited number of custom items before Christmas!

We Decided to do Something Special for Christmas!

With the Canada Post strike, they’ve said all letters to Santa will eventually get a reply - but they can’t guarantee when. So we decided to step-up at iPhix Cornwall this year since we’ve got access to some really advanced AI and we're really good with this kind of thing! Basically, we've got a direct line to Santa, so let's make sure your kids don’t miss out on the magic of getting a letter from Santa!

For $5, we have a chat and collect some information from you (you can also just drop in with the kids' letter(s) to Santa and we can work from that) and then we craft a completely personalized letter from Santa and email you a printable .PDF file.

For $10, we print the letter on Santa Claus's official letterhead, seal it in a "North Pole postmarked" envelope, and have it ready for pickup at our 1290 Pitt St. location.

And as a special service in specific to those in Cornwall, if you're feeling extra festive... For $20, one of Santa’s helpers (that’s totally one of us iPhix nerds in a cheerful elf hat!) at a pre-arranged time we can hand-deliver the letter right to your door and let the little ones know we're there on a special mission from Santa!

What’s in the letter?

- We can include mentions of your child’s favorite toys, hobbies, or holiday wishes.
- We can mention your elf-on-the-shelf has reported back to Santa with any information you'd like
- Santa might recognize their achievements this year or offer gentle reminders to stay on the Nice List.
- There can also be fun updates from the North Pole about the elves, reindeer, and Santa’s preparations.

iPhix Cornwall will be closing early (at 1 pm) tomorrow, November 14th, so that Kenneth can be present at a South Stormont council meeting to discuss a proposed bylaw that would significantly impact access to local recreational facilities and training grounds - a space also used by the OPP and local police for skill development and practice.

If you’re an outdoor sports enthusiast, responsible hunter, or simply interested in learning more about this proposal, feel free to reach out to me on Facebook or pop by the shop for a chat - I’d be happy to discuss it further. We're looking forward to meeting Tracey Wilson there, representing the CCFR/CCDAF, to discuss the potential effects of this proposal on our community. I’m also offering a ride from Cornwall for anyone interested in attending in support. The meeting is scheduled at 2 Mille Roches Road in Long Sault, with sessions from 2-4 pm and again from 6-8 pm.

Risks of Using Cheap Charging Cables

At iPhix, we’ve seen what can happen when low-quality charging cables are used. This Samsung Galaxy A53 was badly damaged after a cheap cable caused the charging port to burn.

Our advice: always use high-quality or original charging cables. It may cost a bit more, but it can save you from expensive repairs—or worse, losing your phone.
