𝟲𝗮𝗺. 𝗟𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘁, 𝗔𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. Sweating next to my mate and personal trainer Malu and I'm thinking about leadership.
Because personal training and corporate training are the same thing dressed in different gear.
𝗠𝗮𝗹𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁. He shows up, holds me accountable, and pushes me past the point I'd quit on my own. That's exactly what great training does for a team.
A former business partner once challenged me on our training spend. He said: "What happens if you pump all this money into training your people and they leave?"
𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙: "𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙛 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 — 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮?"
An untrained team doesn't just underperform. It drags culture, erodes trust, and quietly costs you far more than any training budget ever would.
We are only as strong as our leadership. And leadership...like fitness is not a one-time event. It's a commitment you show up for, over and over again, even when the alarm goes off at 5:30.
𝗦𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗘𝗢, 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀:
invest in your people. Not because they'll stay forever. Because while they're with you, they deserve to be the best version of themselves — and your customers deserve the best version of your team.
𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺.
That's not a cost. That's your competitive edge.
