Follow me as I start my laser engraving journey and build a business. To give you a little background about me, I have been a tech nerd since I was a little kid. I started learning basic programming in 1981 at 15 years old, My first computer was a Tandy MC-10 that I acquired at 17. I got my diploma in computer programming and systems analysis in 1991. Although I already had a little experience upg

rading my computers over the years, I didn’t build my first computer from parts until 1992. By 1996 I already had a few years experience doing tech work, trouble shooting, hardware upgrades, etc. In early 1996 I started my first computer sales, service and programming business. By 2003 I was part of 2 companies, one doing computer tech work, sales and custom programming, and the other doing web page design, hosting, graphics design, on-line programming, etc. In 2008 I got too ill to continue working, in 2012 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. I have recently been regaining much of my health using alternative medicine. As I am getting back into being able to really work with computers effectively I realized I no longer wanted to be a computer tech, but I have always been a good teacher, so I decided to create this page to teach others computer stuff. Since I got sick, I shifted from the PC world to the Apple Universe with no regrets. This is why my focus will be on Apple products and of course things related to social media. Update: April 7, 2021 - I have now built a custom Windows PC for myself so going forward I will also be adding Windows related content.

The WeCreat Make It software has no way to export your project to another format to edit in an external program. There is a way to convert the Native WWS format to an SVG file. Then we take that file into Inkscape, adjust the KERF compensation with a level of refinement Make It isn't able to.

We export a plain SVG and import it into Make It and cut out our parts and test them.

Today we discuss Inkscape, gotcha issues and metal business cards. Dealing with bitmap images and paths have to be done differently. I go over options and things people miss when doing complex batch jobs. My first lesson was the suggested material settings in WeCreat make it software can be terribly wrong. I go over the proper settings to get maximum speed out of your vision pro. Array burn testing is absolutely necessary.

Another step on my AI journey. I now have Stable Diffusion installed on my local Linux Mint system running CPU only. I have much to learn, but it’s all coming together. Yesterday I got OLLAMA 3.3 installed and running along with several other models.
