The Milky Way arches over Lake Windermere in the final hours of darkness, while the lights of Windermere glow across the water and the first light of morning begins to gather along the eastern horizon. To the left a faint glow of auroras can be seen. To the right the core of The Milky Way. An example of how much can be happening in the sky during that short transition between night and dawn.
