This comes up in my ADHD practice all the time. Parents who can’t get their kids to sleep. Adults wide awake at 2am. Teens who swear they don’t need it.

If a piece of your morning or evening has become a daily battle, it's not that the routine is failing. The routine is simply telling you it needs to change.

This week's episode of The Behaviour Coach Podcast is all about rhythms, routines, and the permission slip most ADHD parents do not realize they need.

If you have ever watched your child fall apart after a comment that seemed completely benign to you, this one is for you. 👇🏼

Rejection sensitivity is one of the most under recognized symptoms of ADHD. And it might be the one that hurts the most.

This week's episode of The Behaviour Coach Podcast unpacks what rejection sensitivity actually is, why your child is not overreacting, and the single most powerful research backed strategy for moving through it.

One of the most supportive things you can do during the holidays is pre-communicate the hard parts.

Not just with your kids, but with extended family too.

Things like:
• opening presents in front of others
• sitting still through long meals
• waiting, transitions, or big social energy

These aren’t “behaviour problems.”
They’re predictable nervous system stress points.

Letting family know ahead of time what might be tricky and how you plan to support your child gives everyone more room to breathe.

That support might look like:
• changing how something is done
• building in breaks
• stepping out when needed
• letting things look different than they used to

The goal isn’t perfect behaviour.
It’s access to joy.

Even if that joy comes from doing things a little differently this year.

Wishing you holiday love in a season that can be both beautiful and really tricky. 💛

I’m sharing 10 Days of Holiday Calm right now inside my free ADHD parenting community.

And now for the adults! This is the grand finale of gift guide week.

This year’s theme is all about calming the busy mind, simplifying daily life, and meeting sensory needs without adding more mental load. A mix of splurges + stocking stuffers… all ADHD-friendly, all chosen with real life in mind.

Here are some of the companies featured in this year’s guide:

Teens are my favourite age group to work with. This in-between stage, somewhere between childhood and adulthood, is such a powerful, messy, magical place. They are fiercely independent but still secretly love play. They crave help and want to do everything solo. It’s a constant tug-of-war, and I love every part of it. I seriously love it; there is nothing that gets me in my feels more than witnessing a teen surrendering to a childhood joy moment.

So I created this year’s ADHD-Friendly Teen Gift Guide with that in mind.
No “fix your ADHD” gifts. No planners or systems wrapped up as presents.
Just sensory-friendly, novelty-rich, aesthetic, actually-fun ideas that meet ADHD teens right where they are.
Cozy wear, retro tech, pocket fidgets, creative outlets, dopamine décor… it’s all in there.

And yes, the whole guide is unsponsored (just a few affiliate links, but no commitments to companies). Just things I see ADHD teens love every day in my coaching sessions and in my own home.

Here are a few of the companies featured this year:
