Lawrence Harris didn’t start out knowing where sharing his story would lead.
He just kept getting a little better at speaking about it.
Today, he speaks at schools and mental health organizations — and says he has been able to turn one of the darkest experiences of his life into work that helps other people.
And he’s already seeing the impact.
Lawrence shares that after one of his talks in 2025, two students went on to start their own mental health nonprofit. Another person contacted him to say advice from one of his YouTube videos helped her leave a toxic relationship and make positive changes in several areas of her life.
That’s when sharing your story becomes more than just sharing.

Maybe it’s time to redefine “man up.”
For Lawrence Harris, strength isn’t pretending everything is fine.

It’s being willing to recognize what you’re carrying, understand where it came from, ask for help when you need it — and then take ownership of what happens next.
In heCast Episode 177, Lawrence joins Mike Chisholm to talk about self-doubt, trauma, identity, the pressure facing young men, and the tools he uses to manage his own mental health.

At just 20 years old, Lawrence is already using what he’s learned to help teens and young adults see that their past doesn’t have to dictate their future.
Episode 177 is now live.

What if “man up” didn’t mean hiding what you’re going through?

heCast Episode 177 with Lawrence Harris is now live.

At just 20 years old, Lawrence has already turned his own experiences with bullying, trauma, self-doubt, and mental health into a mission to help teens and young adults take ownership of their future.

In this conversation with Mike Chisholm, Lawrence talks openly about the work he’s done on himself — including therapy, journaling, meditation, and learning to recognize the patterns that were holding him back.

They also get into:

• Why men often tie their worth to money, status, and providing
• The pressure young men face to pretend everything is fine
• Social media, comparison, and identity
• Why motivation alone isn’t enough to create change
• What Lawrence wishes more men understood about managing their mental health
• Why maybe it’s time to redefine what “man up” actually means

It’s a perspective coming from a younger generation of men — and one we think is worth hearing.

Most of us were never handed a playbook for relationships.
How to have the hard conversation.
How to communicate when we’re frustrated.
How to rebuild trust.
How to stay connected when life gets busy.
How to show up for the people who matter most.
We figure a lot of it out as we go.
And sometimes we get it wrong.
That doesn’t mean we stop caring. It means these are skills worth talking about, learning, and working on.
We’re proud to help our brothers at Guy Talks keep creating spaces where men can have these conversations openly — without pretending we have everything figured out.
Their next FREE Guy Talks event is all about RELATIONSHIPS.
Build trust. Deepen connection. Lead with courage.
