Over the years, Studio Locale has been donating time to a number of not-for-profit organizations, whether for brand development, communications strategy and materials, or website support. We are now making a formal commitment to giving back each year with open.

Each year, the studio will support a different not-for-profit organization by donating our time and expertise to help promote their program. With a focus on youth, equality and the environment, projects can range from logo development to creating communications materials such as brochures, annual reports, and small websites.

If you know of an NFP group or organization in Ontario that would benefit from open, please direct them to the link in our bio. We are currently accepting applications through the form on our open page.

Sharing this book as not only a highlight of good and effective book design, but also a great example of curated collaboration. There are too many notable names to mention (we pulled a few just so you can see). Greta’s The Climate Book is big, easy to read and understandable. Our work as a sustainably-focused studio continues to evolve (and it is nice to see that what we are practicing is effective and not greenwashing …)

Have you met….TT?

TT first started her career on the client side. It was there that she discovered her love for connecting products and services with strategic goals and supporting sales through marketing. When she began working at an agency, she built on her knowledge and experience in bringing products to market and what’s required to grow a brand.

What’s exciting about being on the agency side of the table is learning about so many different products and services. While the fundamentals of marketing are consistent, understanding the nuances of the problems our clients can solve for their customers, keeps her learning and growing.

This experience allows TT to look at projects from both the client and agency perspective - she’s like two in one!

Throwback project!

Way back in 2011 when texting with a company for customer service wasn't really a thing, InTheChat was born. As a new player with new technology, they were swimming upstream in introducing an alternative to the traditional customer service contact methods. The initial logo incorporated organic, friendly elements to introduce this new platform as a non-threatening communications tool.

By 2015, texting as a service communications tool was becoming more mainstream. To reflect the environment of the growing tech sector and to help support their strategic plan to gain more US clients, a logo refresh was needed. No longer vital to appear super approachable and low-risk, InTheChat was ready to show a more edgy side to their solution, while still appealing to bigger corporate organizations who were looking for reliable, trustworthy partners. A disrupter in the customer service industry, InTheChat grew their solution and customer base, poised for a purchase - which is exactly what happened!

While we miss working with the ITC team, we couldn't be happier that they are now a part of the Pegasystems team!

Have you met…Anson?

The studio’s lead developer, Anson has developed websites and apps from when websites and apps were relatively a new thing. He’s built sites on all kinds of platforms and has always used a user-experience approach, long before user-experience was a buzzword.

Anson expertly guides our clients through the planning phase of any new website or application, bringing various approaches that can be considered to solve their unique challenges.

Once you get to know Anson, you’ll see just how much he knows about all things development. His passion for continually learning also keeps him up-to-date with all the latest trends, tricks and solutions that can be considered as part of a project.

When considering second career options, Erynn was looking for something that she would be so passionate about and focused that she would forget to eat or sleep – lucky for us, graphic design rose to the top of her list!
