General rules concerning comments
• We accept comments that are constructive and related to the company’s activities; however, we reserve the right to remove any comment that is contrary to public order and morality, to the Canadian Charter of rights and freedoms, to the current rules and regulations and to the rights of others. Any content that is defamatory, violent or encouraging acts of violen
ce, obscene, abusive, offending, discriminatory, racist, xenophobic, pornographic, pedophilic, revisionist or negationist, which purpose is defamation to a person or an organization, or refers to illegal activities, in every way, non-authorized reproduction, representation or distribution of software, brands, photographs, images or texts, or that is non-related shall be removed.
• Although all comments are automatically displayed on social platforms, they are nevertheless supervised by Rio Tinto.
• Rio Tinto reserves the right to participate in or to intervene in any conversation, if necessary.
• Constructive disagreements and debates may be considered to be conversations, but no insulting or offensive comment shall be accepted.
• Moreover, Rio Tinto reserves the right to modify or delete:
o Any accusation, true or false, made against a person or an organisation;
o Any offensive, disrespectful or injurious comment made against a person or organisation;
o Any solicitation or advertising with the objective of promoting or supporting a financial or commercial enterprise, or a non-governmental organisation;
o Any comment published by a person who is not the author or any comment that is not written in English;
o Any incomprehensible comment or comment unrelated to the post published at the beginning;
o Any junkmail or comment sent in bulk;
o Any comment that refers to illegal activities or that encourages the practice of such.
• Rio Tinto invites people to write their comments, their questions or their responses in the space given in order to make its social platforms interesting places where anybody can enjoy conversations and the information exchanged. Rio Tinto is committed to answering pertinent comments and questions during normal business.
