Modern software isn't built from scratch anymore. Every application relies on open-source packages, third-party APIs, SDKs, cloud services, and deployment tools. They help teams move faster, innovate quicker, and build better products.

But they also introduce a new kind of risk. If just one trusted component is compromised, the impact doesn't stop there. It can silently spread across every product that depends on it. That's why attackers are increasingly targeting the software supply chain instead of individual companies. One weak link can affect thousands.

Building secure software today isn't just about protecting the code you write. It's about understanding everything your product depends on and making sure every layer of that ecosystem can be trusted.

One of the biggest myths in SaaS is that users know exactly what they want. They don't. Ask customers what they want, and you'll often get feature requests:
"Can you add dark mode?"
"Can you integrate with this tool?"
"Can you automate this step?"

But feature requests are solutions. Your job is to uncover the problem behind them. Maybe they don't need another integration. Maybe they don't need more automation. Maybe the workflow itself is too complicated.

Every feature request is a clue but not necessarily the answer. Listen to what users are asking for.

What makes an Audacian?

It's not the title on your profile. It's how you show up. It's choosing the bold build over the easy one. Owning the outcome, not just the task. Asking "why" before jumping to "how." And treating every teammate whether they're in Dhaka or Vancouver like they're in the room with you.

Audacians don't just write code. They build with purpose, push past "good enough," and back each other every step of the way.
That's what makes an Audacian.

"AI means it should be cheaper, right?" We hear this a lot lately. Here's the reality: AI didn't make building software free. It made it faster, not cheaper.

The tools we use to design, code, and test with AI still come with real costs. Premium AI models, compute power, and specialized training to use these tools well, none of that is free. And using AI badly (without the right expertise guiding it) can cost you more in the long run through bugs, security gaps, and rebuilds.

What AI does give you: faster iterations, quicker prototypes, more time spent on solving your actual problem instead of repetitive code.
What it doesn't give you: a discount on expertise. You're not paying less for a product built well. You're paying for a team that knows how to use these new tools to build it better and faster. And that skill isn't free either.

Have you run into this expectation with clients or vendors? Let's talk in the comments.

The pressure to "add AI" has never been greater. But successful AI adoption doesn't start with choosing a model. It starts with asking the right questions.

Many businesses invest in AI because it's trending, only to discover later that it doesn't solve a real problem, lacks the right data, or creates more complexity than value.

If the problem you're solving isn't clearly defined, AI often ends up becoming a layer of noise rather than a layer of intelligence. And without reliable, structured data, even the most advanced models won't deliver meaningful results.

There's also the question of long-term impact. Will this make your product genuinely better, or simply bring it in line with what everyone else is already doing? And as usage grows, can your system handle the additional load, cost, and operational complexity that AI introduces?

Many teams only discover architectural limitations when growth starts accelerating. New features take longer to ship. Integrations become increasingly complex. Scaling requires major redevelopment instead of incremental improvements.

Product maturity isn't about how many features you've built, it's about how prepared your product is for what's next.

Take the assessment and see where your product stands.

Comment "SCORE" or send us a message, and we'll share the complete Product Maturity Assessment.

Customers don't compare you to your competitors anymore. They compare you to every great digital experience they've ever had. A customer who enjoys the seamless checkout experience of Amazon expects the same convenience from an insurance app. Someone who uses ChatGPT expects search to be conversational everywhere. Netflix set the standard for personalization. Uber changed expectations for real-time tracking.

Today's customers don't judge products within industries, they judge them against the best digital experiences available. That means your biggest competitor may not even be in your market.

Businesses that recognize this shift invest beyond features. They invest in user experience, speed, reliability, and continuous innovation. The question is no longer, "How do we compare to our competitors?" It's "How do we compare to our customers' expectations?"
