Dear Valued Customers,

Thursday March 13th 2025: Here is an update to our newsletter announcement this morning regarding the closing of ISP Canada, TechAlley and 3D Creations on Friday Mar 14th at 5:00 PM including information about the continuation of Internet and I.T services.

DSL and Wireless Internet Customers: DSL and Wireless internet will continue to operate and will be taken over by Stratolinks for the foreseeable future. All existing web and domain hosting, VoIP phone services and email services will also be taken over by Stratolinks. ISP.CA and custom domain email addresses will remain unchanged. Stratolinks is owned and operated by Terry Steeper who has been a long-time partner of ISP Canada since 2002. All ISP Canada internet customers will receive information shortly from Stratolinks to update payment information to ensure uninterrupted service going forward.

Managed Service Plan I.T. and Microsoft 365 Customers: Our I.T. technician Andy Skuse is moving to a new Help Desk job at Western I.T. on Hamilton Rd. here in London. Western I.T. offers the same range of I.T. services as ISP Canada including Microsoft 365 tenant management, and more. Andy is recommending that you contact Western I.T. at 519-936-8985 about their managed service plans to ensure continued service. If you do not currently have a managed service plan we encourage you to call Western I.T. to discuss your I.T. needs.

We would also like to re-share details of an informal memorial gathering for customers and friends to honour Tom Larsen's life and legacy:

Yes We Do Laptop Repairs! Have laptops become more popular than desktop computers? It sure seems that way now. It used to be that laptops were always considered to be under-powered compared to their desktop counterparts, but times have changed. Desktops are still the go-to for heavy gaming or customizing, but laptops now have high-performance CPUs, and the memory and storage capacity to rival desktop PCs for home and school, business use, and even gaming. The big advantage of owning a laptop is the portability, but portability also means laptops are at more risk for damage from being moved, dropped, or from liquid spills.

August is Service Month at TechAlley! And we have been listening to your feedback and working hard to improve our computer Service Dept. to serve you better!

Has your desktop computer or laptop been making strange noises lately, like there's a ghost living inside it?

Just like your car needs an oil change, your computer needs regular maintenance, and dust is the enemy! Your computer's cooling system uses a fan or set of fans to pull in cooler air to cool down the internal components, and then exhaust the heated air out the back of the computer. But pulling in air means dust can also get pulled in to your computer or laptop, and over time it can accumulate on the cooling fans and eventually dry out the fan bearings. The fans then struggle to spin, and if the dust isn't carefully cleaned out then the fan will eventually start to make groaning or grinding noises and your processor overheats, resulting in freezing, or the computer may just suddenly power off. Not cool!

So if it's been several months since your computer was cleaned, or if it's never been cleaned, then we have the solution! TechAlley offers a comprehensive dust cleaning service that will 1) remove the dust from all fans and components, 2) re-paste the processor's heatsink, 3) test all fans, and then 4) check to make sure your computer is running at an optimal temperature.
