Do I need to switch to Windows 10?
Yes, it's time to switch to Microsoft's new Windows 10 operating system. Up till now i have had really hard time bringing myself to endorse this radically new operating system that seemed to cause more problems than it solved. Even now, after nearly 2 years of constant updates and changes, I have my reservations. However, there have been a lot of improvements in stability and older hardware support which makes it easier for people to simply upgrade their existing machine rather than having to spend the money on the latest, but not often the greatest, computer in order to have the latest security and functionality. Unfortunately, if you are die hard Windows 7 fan like myself, it will be a challenge to keep things up to date and secure as many common applications will no longer be compatible with older operating systems or programs will no longer receive updates and this is an issue when it comes to internet browser capabilities or programs that require secure connection capabilities. For example, tax programs or other programs that upload secure information over a dedicated or browser based connection.
Now for the good news.
Windows 10 has come a long way and seems very close to a finished operating system. Many of the user control type features can be restored and we can turn off many of the invasive information collection features that maybe gather a little too much information for most peoples comfort. We now have more control over the interface options and have discovered excellent software to keep Windows 10 familiar and easy to navigate while at the same keeping the key new features at your finger tips. More so than ever, 10 is compatible with most older hardware and software ensuring a successful upgrade for most.
