After taking some time to focus on my health and recovery, it felt amazing to be back out at The Security Event at the Birmingham NEC for Day 1.

Since December, I’ve been locked in on getting back to better health, eating better, watching what I eat, and slowly rebuilding myself properly. From 2026 onwards, I made a real commitment to putting my health first.

The funny part? My scale went from 15.89 stone to 15.20 stone recently, and I genuinely thought it was faulty because I didn’t think the results were actually showing 😂

But today, catching up with peers and familiar faces, one thing kept coming up:
“You look different / lost a lot weight (🙃👀)”

That meant a lot. Those boring meals wasn’t fun at all.

Sometimes you don’t realise progress is happening until the people around you remind you.

Being back in the room, reconnecting with the industry, and feeling like myself again was a blessing.

Day 1 was a great reminder: health first, purpose next, and the journey continues.

Back to life and ready to work 💪🏾🙏🏿

Touched down in Sydney on Tuesday after leaving the UK on Sunday night… zero chance to adjust to the timezone and straight into 3 days of deep-dive tech with our partners. Who needs a body clock when you’ve got elevators, doors and face readers to configure?

First time ever in Sydney, but definitely not the last. Tech, people, problem-solving… I’ll lose sleep for that any day.

Got the chance to connect with two legends, & , had the room locked in with stories, jokes(still getting use to British comedy), and real insight into the football game back in their time.

Always great linking up with and safety officers, tech partners, and industry peers pushing the future of stadium innovation and access control.
