According to new research (Perimeter X) Nearly half of American website owners have little to no insight into whether their website has suffered a cyber breach. It claims 99% of businesses use extensive third party software which includes tracking, payments, reviews, chat bots, social media integration, etc. exposing their company to many threats they may never know about, until it is too late. What's worse is 80% of respondents said that 50-70% of their website account for these third party apps.

How can you protect your business while still using third party apps to efficiently run your business? Ask questions, read privacy policies and conditions and check the source of where the app is downloaded from. Consider apps that require payment and provide a customer service number or even better, a representative you can connect with first hand.

Are you feeling stressed and burnt out over cyber security concerns?

In a recent study, over half (51%) of cybersecurity professionals were found to be kept up at night by the stress of the job and work challenges.

The survey of 557 security professionals found that stress and burnout have become a major issue during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is partly due to overwork. The study found almost half (47%) of respondents work 41+ hours a week, with some working up to 90.

Additionally, 80% said that staff across organizations have been more anxious or stressed during the crisis. This is concerning as numerous studies have demonstrated that people are more vulnerable to being duped by cyber-criminals while feeling stressed or burnt out.
