Strategic Technology Associates Quick Responses, Lasting Solutions. Dear Colleague,

It just amazes me how unreliable and arrogant some computer technicians are. Enough Is Enough!

When you call them for help, you end up talking to their voicemail. Then when you finally get them on the phone, they make you wait hours—even days—before they can come out to see you. Even at that, a lot of them are late, never really explain what they are doing, and as a final insult, bill you for work that you are not satisfied with! I think it’s about time someone finally got it right. That’s why I decided to start a "one company revolution" and commit my team to deliver fast, affordable computer network support from technicians who really know what they are doing. Although I don’t think this is an amazing concept, it still surprises me how many companies don’t get it right. After all, you and I know that there are plenty of computer consulting firms out there offering some type of network support; but an awful lot of them are new or just getting started in the business. Some will even outsource their clients’ projects to part-time technicians that are between jobs or to companies overseas. I've been servicing customers in Atlantic Canada since 2007, and ALL of our technicians are full-time employees. When you hire us for ANY project, not only can you expect it to be done right, but you can expect it to be done on time and on budget. Sean Robertson, President

“When it rains, it pours” feels especially true when several IT costs show up at once.

A server needs replacing. A few laptops are on their last legs. Software renewals are around the corner. Suddenly, your carefully planned budget looks a little soggy.

Knowing those expenses are coming gives you something every business owner wants: time to prepare.

An upcoming server replacement feels very different when it’s six months away instead of six hours.

With a little visibility, you can budget, compare your options and decide what deserves attention first without making expensive decisions under pressure.

Not sure what IT costs are hiding in your forecast? Let’s take a look together. Call us at +15066169334

⏰ Hitting snooze buys you a few more minutes. It doesn’t make the alarm go away.

Neither does putting off that IT problem your team keeps working around.

The slow computer everyone knows takes forever to start. The recurring issue that gets “fixed” with another restart. The workaround that somehow became part of someone’s daily routine.

The work may still be getting done, but every restart, delay and workaround takes a little more time out of someone’s day.
Eventually, you have to turn off the alarm and deal with what keeps waking you up.

What technology issue has your team been putting up with for way too long? Tell us below. 👇

⛈️ You don’t have to wait for thunder to know a storm is nearby. Usually, the sky gives you a few hints first.

Your server room has its own warning signs. Equipment needs more attention, the same problems keep coming back and support calls start creeping up.

None of those signs mean disaster is around the corner. But they’re good reasons to take a closer look before the weather gets worse.

If the forecast in your server room looks a little questionable, let’s talk about what may be nearing replacement.

Schedule a 10-minute discovery call at 5066169334 and get a clearer picture of what may need attention next.

You approve the IT budget, and everything looks accounted for. A few months later, the numbers start to change. A laptop needs replacing sooner than expected. A software renewal costs more than last year. A few new hires mean more equipment, licenses and storage.

Unplanned small costs can throw a budget off course.

Our latest blog post looks at four common budgeting mistakes that can leave businesses asking, “Why didn’t we know about this?”

Because “surprise!” is fun at a birthday party. On an invoice? Not so much.

Security solutions are only part of the picture.
Firewalls, endpoint protection and email security don’t protect your business on autopilot.

They still need someone to:
•Review alerts before they become incidents
•Confirm protections are working as expected
•Update your strategy as threats and your business evolve
•Catch the gaps before someone else does

That's the difference between having cybersecurity tools and having cybersecurity support.

Not sure if your security tools are getting the attention they need? Contact us at 506 616 9334 to learn how we can help.

The most important words in cybersecurity might be "Can someone take a look at this?"

One question can be the difference between stopping a cyberattack and responding to one.

The best security training doesn’t just teach employees how to spot suspicious activity. It also gives them the confidence to speak up when something feels off.

Encourage questions, reward caution and make speaking up part of your security culture.

Send us a message to find out how security awareness training can help your team become your strongest defense.

Phishing emails have changed.

Thanks to AI, cybercriminals can create messages that are polished, professional and convincing in seconds. That means obvious spelling mistakes and awkward wording are no longer reliable warning signs.

Here's what to look for instead:
•Requests that create urgency or pressure
•Instructions to click a link or download an attachment
•Payment or banking detail changes
•Anything that asks you to bypass a normal process

Want to help your team recognize today's phishing tactics? Give us a call at +1 506 616 9334 to learn how security awareness training can strengthen your first line of defense.

Cybersecurity is a team sport, and everyone is on the roster.
Winning teams don't guess at positions. Here's who plays where:

•Employees: the players making real-time calls every day
•Employees: the players making real-time calls every day
•Leadership: the coaching staff setting the tone
•Leadership: the coaching staff setting the tone
•Your IT partner: the strategist keeping the playbook current
•Your IT partner: the strategist keeping the playbook current

One weak link impacts the whole team. Make sure everyone knows their position.

Just because it still works doesn't mean it's still working well.

That aging computer or server may seem fine today, but behind the scenes it could be missing security updates, slowing productivity and increasing the chances of an unexpected failure.

Technology has a lifespan. Waiting until something breaks is almost always the most expensive way to find the end of it.

Let's create a plan to replace aging technology before it becomes an emergency. Call us at +15066169334.

Happy National Techies Day!

Sure, they restart the router.

They also patch your software, monitor your network, recover your data and walk you through setting up multi-factor authentication for the third time.

Most of what they do happens behind the scenes, which is exactly why it's so easy to overlook.
