Moncton’s heritage, seen through the eyes of our students. 🏛️🎨

Over the past two weeks, McKenzie College students from our visual and applied arts programs explored three designated heritage sites, learned the stories behind them, and created original artwork inspired by their visits in honour of Moncton Heritage Week.

From architectural details to light, texture and atmosphere, students translated their observations into pieces that reflect each location’s history and unique character. A curated selection of their work is featured in the Moncton Heritage Week Art Project exhibition, connecting our city’s past with its next generation of artists.

We’re proud to be part of this collaboration with the City of Moncton’s Heritage Conservation Board, Culture and Heritage and Planning and Development departments, and local partners, including Place Resurgo Place and Downtown Moncton Centre-Ville

Celebrate the seventh edition of Moncton Heritage Week with Moncton ! All Heritage Week events are free and open to everyone. Visit the City of Moncton’s website for the full schedule and details.

🎉 BIG SURPRISE! Introducing a brand-new scholarship at McKenzie College of Design! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce The McKenzie Idea Centre Creative Scholarship - a $1,500 annual award created in partnership with IDEA Centre Moncton !

At McKenzie, we are elevating our scholarship offerings this year to champion the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and creative problem-solvers. The Idea Centre empowers youth to tackle real-world challenges, and we want to help turn those bold ideas into successful careers!

We recently surprised the very first recipient of this award, Emma Guitard, recent graduate of Harrison Trimble High School.

Emma is heading into our Visual Communication Design program this coming Fall, and her drive, critical thinking, and collaborative spirit made her the perfect choice for this inaugural scholarship.

Please join us in celebrating Emma! We can’t wait to see the incredible impact she’ll make at McKenzie and beyond.

Francophone creators bring something unique to the games space: story, perspective, originality and a creative voice that really connects.

We welcomed Francophone creators to a Co-Production Workshop at McKenzie College of Design with Pierre Moisan, Matt Toner from Shred Capital and other game designers and animators from around the Maritimes.
And it was awesome!

From storytelling and animation to funding structures and co-production models, the day gave creators a clearer sense of how ideas can turn into interactive media, and why Francophone creators have an edge in that process.

Thank you to Pierre and Matt for sharing their insights and experience, and a BIG thank you to Shred Capital and InteractiveNB for organizing this workshop.
