‪Structured Cabling Technician/Cable Puller‬

EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of 2 years experience installing structured cable and performing terminations and punch down work
* Knowledge and ability to work while making safety the number one priority is a must!

‪RESPONSIBILITIES: ‬
* Install, terminate and pull CAT 5e and CAT 6 cable
* Mount face plates on surface mount boxes correctly
* Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fibre optic and hardware)
* Route cable through data centres, buildings and workstations Test, adjust and troubleshoot equipment Provide appropriate customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements

‪QUALIFICATIONS: ‬
* Excellent people skills, communication skills and self. -management skills
* Honesty, integrity and a genuine desire to help
* Work independently
* Creative in completing a task
* Must have valid driver’s license in good standing
* Must be able to read Blue Prints
* Must have a strong commitment to safety
* Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team

- Two to five (1-5) years relevant experience with network/telecom industry desired. Will train the right applicants.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record as conditions of initial and continued employment.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
- Capable of utilizing ladders or step stools to reach heights of approx 10 feet.
- Duties require good judgment to work independently toward general results and to make related decisions controlled by precedent and within limits of established policies.
- Network Knowledge and Skills: Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, Voice and Data applications
- (BONUS) Be proficient in using a laptop to set configurations on equipment such as Cisco routers and other components of an IP Network.
- Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
- FREQUENT TRAVEL - Applicants must be able to travel to remote sites. Should another location require additional support, technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region.
- Overtime - Applicants must be able to support maintenance as required to support roll-out of new sites and scheduled maintenance which may occur at any hour. Technicians will be required to remain on-call.
