Urgent Security Alert: Update Firefox Immediately to Prevent Zero-Day Exploit

A critical vulnerability (CVE-2024-9680, CVSS score: 9.8) has been discovered by security researcher Damian Schaeffer from ESET. This flaw, related to a use-after-free issue in Firefox’s Animation timeline component, could allow remote code ex*****on.

Affected Versions:

Firefox 131.0.2
Firefox ESR 128.3.1
Firefox ESR 115.16.1
What You Need to Do:

Firefox typically updates automatically. To ensure you’re protected, simply close and reopen all instances of Firefox on your device.

To Manually Check for Updates:

Click the menu button on the right side of the Firefox toolbar.
Navigate to Help and select About Firefox.
The window that opens will check for updates and download any available.
Once complete, click "Restart to update Firefox."
This process works on both Windows and Mac. For Linux users, if Firefox was installed via repositories, you'll need to wait for the update to become available. If installed manually, follow the steps above.
