Well, I am currently refurbishing 3 desktops, one is a compact, the other are large, and starting to rebuild a latitude D260. I am actually using my own money on the projects which will eventually just give-away, because I am not getting a lot in donations frankly. So, the show must go on. Here is the laptop at least. a new SSD, 4gb ram, a corded adapter and a new keyboard should do it!

I have a nice refurbished laptop for someone who can't afford a new one or a pricey used one. THIS ONE is a dell Inspiron, and I have personally refurbished it myself. I guarantee it. I am asking 65 dollars if someone out there can afford that. It DOES have windows 10 on it and is Internet ready so, it would be great for a struggling student etc. Physically it is in great shape and has a new battery on it which I personally invested in. It cost me , well, lets just say I am making ZERO profit by selling this at 65 dollars ok. especially after spending two days on it, installing windows 10 and providing a DVD disc copy of windows 10 to go along with it, as well as the original charger too. I was just talking with a guy who has an AIO HP computer for sale for 75$. I started talking to him and told him why I was buying it. I told him my business consists of two branches, one branch does repairs etc. for those who need that service, and i charge for it. The other branch is where i recycle older, donated PC's to be able to give them free to folks who cannot afford a used computer. In this case a girl, named Lisa, is the next person on my list of about 12 so far.

He started to think I was weird and began to ignore me, even though I made it clear that I had the 75$ he was asking foir, and could come to Centertown and pick it up at whatever time he proposed. He ignored everything I said after explaining what I was going to do with that AIO PC.

I kept telling him my money is as good as anyone else's, and that I could bring in cash to him and pick up the PC but no, no he continued to ignore me. Imagine the type of person who would DO THAT! It was just to spite me for offering him 60 to tart with, and settling on 65$. He seemed to get put off by that; when I finally said hey, I have it, he began ignoring everything i said after that. I offered and offered and he ignored and ignored, hoping i would just go away, or maybe he blocked me, and yet i did not see "this person has you blocked" when I typed to him, so........ I have no idea what was going on. It broke my heart as hear I was being as honest as I could be, and all he could do is pretend that I didn't even exist. WHY? Why do people do this?

I quit two jobs in the past..., one at Business Depot, and the other; Best Buy! They were artificially inflating customers bills. I could not stand for it and walked out on them and have been independent ever since. Going on 20 years now. it was the best thing I ever did for my Tech career.

I also accept donated machines which I fix up and distribute to low income families, or folks in need. Lately I am very low on donations as the Pandemic has halted that area of what I do; hopefully it will begin to pick up though so that I can, once again, fix up donated machines and give them to folks, free of charge. HEY if there are any persons in the Ottawa area that are interested in buying a 24" HD widescreen PC monitor with all three cables (DVI, VGA and power) included in the price of 70$ I have one available for sale. In excellent condition.... I got two for myself a month or so ago because they were so cheap and no i can see 6 web pages side by side across both monitors in front of me. Being a composer, I can view an entire orchestra score in one full uninterrupted page! Great for music projects, graphic design work you name it. they used to be 5, 600 buks just a year ago! During the Pandemic, I AM open for business.

I am practicing strict social guidelines and am working in my home. If you need my services, please expect to follow the guidelines as well. We are doing all we can to accommodate both the Pandemic, and people in need. After all, during quarantine times, all we have is a TV and/or a computer! That computer better be working properly! THIS is where I come in. I still offer VERY reasonable prices, flat rates etc. I find price gouging repugnant, and the way the big box stores rip people off, and es, THEY DO.... I also want nothing to do with that nonsense. That is why I am, and remain, and independent tech.

During this nasty Pandemic, I have been swamped with work! It would appear to me, that most, if not all of the regular places people go to for computer work, are closed up! This explains why I a getting so much business.... I am not complaining! I love my work, and continue to provide excellent customer service ad VERY reasonable prices during these times of quarantine.

I almost always charge a flat rate, so that my clients do not have to pay fo the endless extra hours I will often spend, meticulously making sure that everything, including things I did not mention I would fix, I go ahead and fic them. The client, well, doesn't end up having to pay for this extra care, and this is just fine by me.....

You see my philosophy is simple. NEVER rip people off, and ALWAYS give a little extra. It goes a LONG WAY .... I enjoy a great reputation at very little cost to me, and at zero cost to my clients. DB. reBOOT.PCTech

How to CLEAN and refurbish your very old, dried up inkjet printer!

If you are amoung the thousands of folks who paid a lovey 300$ (US) for a printer that required expensive cartridges of ink; so, nobody was ever allowed to use it BUT you.... AND... you told yourself, many times over: "I will never use this printer for anything but what I really need to have printed!" Over the years, none of that held true did it? None of those frugal promises you made to yourself on keeping your new, sacred inkjet printer safe and economical to use let alone HAVE in one's common accumulation of well needed computer accessories. Now, it seems, oh so many years have passed as that sacred old inkjet printer has sat, with near empty cartridges, but because only one of them has ink filled in it, it will not print unless ALL cartridges have ink in them.... A frustrating and expensive keepsake, as it just just sits there. Year after year, drying out like a prune in July.

At this point most of us would be thinking of replacing the old relic; of buying a new printer & finally, by getting rid of that dust covered, dried up old prune of a thing, and just getting a brand new, shiny, working printer! Even a "new to you" formerly used one that is in perfectly good, running condition will suffice. That big question is: Should I, can I justify spending 200$ on a new printer, and probably another set f ink cartridges as well. I have decided to share some pretty cool information on how YOU, yes YOU can save yourself the trouble of having to buy a NEW printer; if you follow the tips i will be offering you; properly and with confidence, in the next video here I am posting, then you will be able to SAVE that dried up old inkjet printer and bring it back to glory. Such a wintery, snowy February already! This time of the year work slows down for me. Getting out and about, around, is difficult with all the messy, icy roads and sidewalks. Still available though! I had a couple of fantastic experiences doing work for people at the end of december! A father with his little kid son; must have been oh, about 8 or 9 i guess. His father had inherited a really nice laptop from work that he no longer was involved with, and was able to keep the laptop, but had long forgotten the password. The laptop was in brand new condition because it had not been used much at all.

So the father brought it to me to get it opened and running. A day later they came to pick it up and knowing by then, the father was going to give it to his boy, i knelt down to his level and told the little guy that he had a really nice laptop and to be very careful with it, to always keep drinks far enough away not to spill on it and etc. he was so happy to get it. it was a wonderful experience! A warm story for a cold season :) I can help YOU too!! I always limit myself to one client at a time; that way i can focus, and deliver on time, and i can take the opportunity to give as much helpful information as possible. reBOOT
