A few years ago, I answered a marketplace ad for “perennials.” The meeting spot was in front of a slightly questionable laundromat. Right on cue, a beat-up pickup truck pulls in. Out steps a woman I’ll call Mrs. Green (because of her obvious green thumb).

The back of her truck was loaded with perennials. No small talk. Just cash for plants. I picked my iris and drove off, wondering if I’d just joined an underground perennial ring.😄

Well, here are the lovely results of that very shady plant deal.

Another great event... hmmm, what to do next?

WOW - we put on a spectacular event yesterday - the screening of The Art of Adventure. After months of planning, we presented this award-winning documentary to a full house at the Bayside Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection in Parksville BC.

This is the story of the epic voyage of Robert Bateman and Bristol Foster as they travelled around the world in their Land Rover - the Grizzly Torque.

Thanks to the Bayside Resort, The MAC - McMillan Arts Centre, Game Theory Films, Alison Reid and Bristol Foster for making this event a real treat for our guests. And since it was a matinee, our guests enjoyed popcorn with their movie. What a great day!

For years, I have had this image in mind for a painting reference. All along, I envisioned it to be a horizontal piece. Once I started doing my sketches, as taught by Mike Svob in my first class with him in 2013, I realized, "Wow - this would be more effective as a vertical."
