After all the plan hatched by the Quebec in December 2010 in no way matches the performance of their French counter-parts in the French National Assembly in Paris over the intervening seven years. If we recall correctly the plan was intended to bring the use of free software up to 50% over the following 5 years whereas little was done mainly to lobbyists firmly entrenched in the right places

The plan was however quite simple to put into effect. One simply had to follow the French Government's lead by providing members of parlement here with desktops using free software and learn from the mistakes made in France. And since today there is freesoftware package manager available for Windows 10 it doesn't even mean that Microsoft has to be shown the door. You can find out more about the freesoftware available this way at chocolatey.org and simply follow the instructions on the website. Our prefeence at Garage Linux though is to allow people to benefit from both worlds Free and Proprietary.
