We are Joint Venture Applications, a team of software developers brought together by the legendary COSC 3F00 Software Engineering course at Brock University. Currently, our focus is on the development of a therapeutical software application for children suffering from selective mutism (SM), named Meeu. The Team:

Founded in September 2013, we decided to shrug off seemingly simple project options in favour of the intimidating and alien-scribed SM alternative. Our mission: to address the social speech paralysis experienced by children suffering from SM through a software application employing behavioural therapy techniques. Why did we decide to embark on such a daunting task? Because this project opportunity would enable us to engage our own creativity, software design/development skills, and project coordination while ultimately resulting in an end-product that will empower children with speech. Over the course of eight months, we have invested countless hours into research, design, development, testing, and consulting of this application. As a team we have advanced in many aspects and hope to continue growing. In virtue of our efforts, we humbly present Meeu. Through Meeu we provide the opportunity for children to reinforce and improve upon their social speaking skills, while allowing parents, teachers, and therapists to monitor progress. Many thanks to Professor V. Wojcik and Ms. Bork for their ongoing encouragement and guidance.
