I've only realized recently that many of the people who find me online are finding it here, not at my website. So many of you don't have any background or pricing.

First, I'll be retiring from the coast within the year so I'm not taking anything too challenging or long term. I'm 71 and looking to beng closer to family in Alberta.

Second, my rates are currently $115 per hour. Although I do often discount jobs and have contracts at a lower rate I keep it high because I won't be building too many new relationships and am also focussed on the whole issue of the move.

Third, I don't do Apple. Probably shoulda led with that :), sorry.

I love Castlegar and hope to visit my nephew Zach there soon. All the Vancouver Island properties seem less practical because of ferries and distance but Trail was pretty cool in the late 70s. I haven't checked a map but I think it's a quicker car trip home to Edmonton than Castlegar but I haven't checked a map. (That descent was both magnificent and terrifying in the evening pulling a heavy trailer but is as different as the Golden route to Alberta these days.) But in both cases it was from East to West that scared you. It was a corkscrew that seemed straight down.

I just a few months ago I HAD TO HAVE something running Apples new M1 "Silicone". Already Qualcom snapdragoned Arm from under them, and the Reduced Instructions Set Computers with way low power and hi performance are only months away.

"A May 9th report in The Korea Economic Daily provided details of a premium Exynos chip that Samsung will launch in the second half of this year. The chip is slated for use in Samsung’s Windows laptops, making Samsung the first Windows laptop manufacturer to ship its own processor."

Will it be enough to fend off rivals looking to claim Apple’s performance-per-watt crown?
