At Swift, every project is unique - however some projects carry a little more history than others.
We were proud to be part of the recent Gull Harbour Historic Lighthouse Demolition project alongside CGI Constructors and Canadian Coast Guard / Garde côtière canadienne Guard in Hecla Island, Manitoba.
Since May, our wireless team disassembled and removed the 150ft - 100 year old tower, while closely following environmental safety protocols to ensure no contamination to the local ecology. We did our best to take extra care in preserving the delicate history of the lighthouse.
Swift, along with other contractors, continue to work on this project, and expect to have the new replica tower built in late 2026 which will be up to today's CSA standards and a homage to the past.
Needless to say - we're honoured and proud to have played a role in preserving a piece of Manitoba's history.
