Email Etiquette Matters: Cc vs Bcc

One of the most common ways companies accidentally leak data isn't hacking, it's bad email etiquette.

Cc (Carbon Copy)
Everyone sees everyone.
Best use practice - when the group is small, known, and already connected
Internal Teams? Yes. Vendor + Client + Client's client? No

Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy)
Recipients stay private.
Use this when sending to lists, multiple clients, or mixed audiences.

Bcc protects personal emails, avoids unintentional contact sharing, and prevents easy 'stealing' of addresses.

Why this matters:
Sharing someone's email without permission is an avoidable privacy risk and once exposed, contact lists become fuel for phishing, malware, and social engineering attacks.

Using Bcc protects your client relationships and customer data!

Did you know, that not all Cyber threats are scary. Some come as "friendly" emails.

Here are some ways you can quickly identify:

* Check the sender: If the address looks off, it probably is
* Pause before you click: Links and attachments are primary delivery methods for malware
* Look for urgency cues: "Act now," or "Your account is locked" are major red flags
* Trust your instincts: If something feels off, ask. A quick second opinion can save hours of cleanup plus all those recovery dollars.

Cybersecurity isn't about fear, it's about confidence and awareness.

When you know what to look for, you can spot threats before its too late.

End-of-Life (EoL) hardware and software aren't "just old" they're unsupported, insecure, unpredictable, and expensive to keep going.
